Nokia and HTC completed some time ongoing patent war, and instead drag through the courts, have agreed to cooperate regarding the licensing of proprietary technologies and patents – thus withdrawn are all mutual accusations between the companies.
exact conditions of the agreement are confidential, but it is known that the Taiwanese company has to pay Nokia an undisclosed sum of money and the Finns have access to the patent portfolio for HTC LTE . What’s more, both manufacturers have to cooperate in the future on new solutions.
do not know what is the reason for this decision, but it seems that Nokia and HTC have come to the conclusion that in this market there are a few more formidable rivals with deeper wallets and bigger arsenal of patents. Anyway, focus on their own products instead of mutual accusations probably come to them for good.
